What to do with used nicotine pouches

Put a used nicotine pouch in a sealed trash container or a dedicated pouch receptacle, and keep it away from children and pets. Don't flush it, and don't toss it on the ground.

Where do used nicotine pouches end up?

When there's nowhere obvious to put one, a used pouch goes wherever is closest. It's small and damp, and the nearest trash can is often across the room.

So pouches land on bar tops and in urinals. They get left in sinks, pushed into planters, and dropped on floors. It doesn't matter if it's ZYN, On!, Velo, Rogue, or another nicotine pouch. The problem looks the same.

Most people aren't trying to make a mess. They just don't have a better option within reach.

How do you dispose of a used nicotine pouch?

Treat it as trash, and keep it contained. A few simple habits cover most situations:

Can you flush a nicotine pouch?

No. Pouches don't belong in toilets or urinals, even though a urinal can look like the easy answer.

They can clog plumbing, and a clog is a much bigger problem than the pouch that caused it. Put it in the trash instead.

Do used nicotine pouches still contain nicotine?

They can. Used pouches can still contain residual nicotine, so keep them away from children and pets.

In practice, that means not leaving them on coffee tables, low shelves, nightstands, or in the car's cup holder. At home, choose a trash container that a toddler or a curious dog can't get into.

If a child or pet gets hold of a used pouch and you're worried, call your doctor, your vet, or poison control.

Why do venues end up cleaning up used pouches?

Venues inherit the problem because guests leave pouches where they finished them. Staff then pull them off bar tops, fish them out of urinals and sinks, dig them out of planters, and sweep them off floors.

Each one only takes a moment, but the job never really ends. It's also not what anyone was hired to do.

Regular trash cans don't fully solve it. They're usually by the door or behind a counter, not where someone is standing when a pouch is done.

How does a wall-mounted pouch receptacle solve it?

It puts a clearly marked spot right where pouches get used, so nobody has to improvise. That's the job we built STOWE to do.

STOWE is a small wall-mounted unit made of ABS plastic, about 4" wide, 3.1" deep, and 5.75" tall. It comes with 3M VHB adhesive already applied, so it goes up with peel-and-stick and no tools. To empty it, the bin slides off the wall plate.

Venues can mount one next to a urinal, near a bar, or anywhere pouches keep showing up. See how that works for bars, golf courses, hotels, and stadiums.
